Falcons Coach Mike Smith’s Terrible Clock Management Costs Game Against The Browns

With 55 seconds left in the fourth quarter after a second down pass play, Falcons coach Mike Smith made two huge mistakes that probably cost the Falcons their game against the Browns.

First Smith, for whatever reason, called a timeout, even though the Browns had three timeouts and were likely to blow one. Then, he decided to throw the ball on third down, which ended up being incomplete and again stopped the clock.

After kicking a field goal, the Falcons left Cleveland with 44 seconds on the clock and three timeouts, which was enough time to drive the field and score to win the game.

Hard to imagine a bigger blunder this season by a head coach.
