Pop star Charlie Puth got rave reviews for his rendition of the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
Ahead of his performance, Puth explained why he wanted to do the national anthem during the big game.
“It’s special to be able to perform on a big stage, the biggest stage in the world, like this because of how many people you’re reaching,” Puth said.
“I just want to show people that I can do it,” he admitted to Rolling Stone, “I feel like people don’t really think of me as a standalone vocalist at times… It’ll be pressure the week leading up to it and the hour leading up to it, but once I’m there, it’s going to feel so comfortable, and it’s going to sound so good.”
Puth kept his promise and provided a fantastic rendition of the national anthem on the biggest stage.
