What a weird week for fantasy football #FantasyFootballNow #FantasyFootballPlayoffs
— John “Supi” Supowitz (@ImThatSupi) December 9, 2019
That tweet pretty much explains Week 14. In what we thought would be a defensive battle between the 49ers vs. Saints, ended up being a 94 points offensive blowout, and a week after the Texans big win against the Patriots at home, they lose to Denver.
Most importantly, there were a lot of injuries, especially to important fantasy players. Mike Evans, DeVante Parker, Jared Cook, Rashaad Penny, those are just a few players that were injured last week.
If you sneaked by in the first round in the playoffs, or you’re coming off a bye, you may need to see who you should get to replace an injured player.
Here are some players you should look to add in Week 15.
RB Raheem Mostert
It’s looking like Mostert is the new lead back in San Fransisco, thanks to consecutive 100 total yard games, and three straight with a touchdown.
Kyle Shanahan’s former favorite Tevin Coleman is plummeting down the depth chart fast; he was out-touched by Mostert and Matt Breida in the game against the Saints.
QB Ryan Tannehill
I wasn’t sure if I should add Tannehill again this week, but then I looked and saw he is owned in fewer leagues than Baker Mayfield. I mean, if you don’t want to win than play Mayfield over Tannehill.
From Week 7-13, he has the sixth-most points amongst quarterbacks. The guy is the featured image in my playoff preview. If he’s available, grab him.
WR Isaiah Ford
DeVante Parker was set to be a fantasy hero, but a concussion took him out early this week against the Jets. Ford saw the most targets with nine and the most receiving yards with 92.
If Parker can’t go, Ford could be a good flex play against the Giants this week.
RB Adrian Peterson
Derrius Guice owners waited all season to see the production he put up in return three weeks ago. Unfortunately, the injury bug has plagued him again, Guice left last week’s game with an MCL sprain.
With Guice’s history of knee problems, they may be cautious with him. The ageless Peterson could see his workload increase.
TE Ian Thomas
With Greg Olsen out last week, Thomas had the opportunity to make some noise, and he did. He saw 10 targets from Kyle Allen and had a touchdown.
Olsen’s status is worth monitoring over the week because if he doesn’t play, Thomas is a streaming option.
TE Hayden Hurst
Another backup tight end that made an impact, Hurst saw the end zone after Mark Andrews left the game with a knee injury. The Ravens have a short turnaround with a matchup against the Jets on Thursday. If serious enough, they could sit out Andrews against a beatable team.
QB Drew Lock
Lock has played well in his two starts by throwing for a total of 443 yards and 5 TDs. He has a decent matchup against Kansas City this week, and better one against Detroit in Week 16. In a two-quarterback or deep league, he’s worth a look.
WR A.J. Brown
Tannehill has developed chemistry with his fellow SEC alum. He has 130+ receiving yards in two of his last three games.
He gets a prime matchup against the Houston secondary next week.
RB Deandre Washington
This is why handcuffs are important. All Josh Jacobs owners need to have Washington on their roster.
Jacobs will have an MRI on his shoulder this week. The Raiders’ loss last week pretty much ended their playoff chances and they may choose to shut down the star rookie running back. Washington could be the lead back with Jalen Richard as a change-of-pace back.
WR Cole Beasley
Six touchdowns in his last eight games. Enough said.
