Fernando Mendoza may have won the Heisman weeks before the end of the season.
On Saturday afternoon, Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers found themselves down 4 points deep in their own side of the field with no timeouts left in the game.
Mendoza ended up driving the ball up the field for 87 yards and threw an amazing game-winning touchdown pass to Omar Cooper Jr. to win the game.
Fox Sports’ Gus Johnson immediately declared that Mendoza would win the Heisman.
“Give him the Heisman” said Johnson after Mendoza’s game-winning touchdown.

Mendoza’s drive almost brought Indiana head coach Curt Signetti to tears during his postgame interview.
“This was an unbelievable win. I’ve seen a lot of stuff in my days, I’ve never seen anything quite like this,”
