The Florida basketball team beat SEC rival Texas A&M soundly in conference play on Saturday. The Gators did some talking after the win.

Multiple assistant coaches were seen confronting the Texas A&M bench in a tense spat with opposing players. A cheap shot was cited as reasoning.

Florida dominated the Aggies on the road to the tune of an 86-67 shellacking. The Gators jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead and never looked back.

The top spot in the SEC race was up for grabs. Both sides entered at 7-2 in conference play. Only one team looked deserving of the No. 1 standing.

Florida won the basketball game convincingly.

They led by 11 at halftime. The advantage grew to 26 before the Gators let off the gas late. Frustrations bubbled over for the Aggies in the second half.

At one point, Rylan Griffen was seen laying a cheap shot on Florida’s Thomas Haugh.

The play was not forgotten by the Gators’ staff. A few assistants confronted Griffen after the game. Head coach Todd Golden reportedly cursed out one of his Texas A&M teammates.

Florida players eventually pulled the coaching staff back to the locker room. Cooler heads prevailed before the situation escalated any further.

With the win, the Gators improved to 8-2 in league play. They are currently projected to be a three-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
