Florida Instagram models are pushing back at a Sin Tax proposed by a Florida politician.
GOP Gubernatorial candidate James Fishback has gone viral while campaigning for a 50 percent tax on models who sell subscriptions.
“As Florida governor, I don’t want young women in my state selling their bodies to sick men online… They will pay 50% to the state on whatever you so-called earn via that online degeneracy platform. We will raise hundreds of millions.”
“This is about combating cultural degeneracy.”
Several Florida-based Instagram models spoke with CNN and fired back at Fishback’s proposed tax.
Sophie Rain, who has made over $100 million off subscriptions, called the proposed Sin Tax “the dumbest idea” she’s ever heard.
“This is the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard. Who gets to define sin? … I’ve paid millions of dollars in taxes already. Florida has over 500 strip clubs — they’re okay with that? … This platform has given me and so many other women financial independence when traditional jobs weren’t enough.”
Anya Lacey, another popular Instagram model, also spoke out against Fishback’s tax idea.
“This isn’t about morality — it’s about controlling women’s bodies and autonomy. Men are the ones choosing to pay for the content. If this passes, there’s about to be a ho-exodus out of Florida.”

Fishback is currently polling in the single digits and is considered a long shot to win the Florida Governor’s race despite support from Gen Z voters.
