The Florida State Seminoles are struggling in the 2024 college football season. Despite landing transfer signal caller DJ Uiagalelei in the portal over the offseason, the offense has been stagnant.

Much of the blame has been laid on the starter under center, with cries for Uiagalelei’s replacement amplifying.

The Seminoles started the season 0-3 before picking up an ugly win over Cal last Saturday. In those four outings, Uiagalelei’s completed just 57% of his attempts while throwing more interceptions than touchdowns.

Inconsistency at the position has led to criticism with the ‘Noles only averaging 15 points per game. That’s good for 126th nationally.

Boos rained down in DJ Uiagalelei’s most recent start as many call for QB2 Brock Glenn.

Glenn has experience.

He played in last year’s ACC Championship following injuries to Jordan Travis and Tate Rodemaker, leading the team to a win over Louisville.

He also had the undesirable task of facing Georgia in the Orange Bowl.

Florida State fans don’t believe things can get much worse on the offensive side of the ball. They’re begging the coaching staff to give him a chance!

On Tuesday, Glenn dropped an announcement.

What does it mean?!

He’s asking for support from the fanbase – which he clearly already has! He just needs confidence from the coaching staff.

Many hoped it was a sign that he’d been promoted to QB1. Others viewed is as a way for FSU to keep him from transferring while he continues to play second fiddle.

The Seminoles are prepping for a matchup against new ACC rival SMU. To this point, no change has been made at quarterback.

“Yes,” head coach Mike Norvell said when asked if DJ Uiagalelei would remain in the starting lineup.

“There are some good things DJ did in some very critical moments and there’s things where he has to be better… We’re going to continue to push, continue to evaluate what we have to do in every area.”

That’s probably not the answer Florida State fans wanted to hear, but at least the program is making an effort to keep Brock Glenn happy.

For now, Glenn will have to rack up that NIL cash while on the sidelines. We’ll see if he gets an opportunity to start as the year progresses.
