Florida State Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei Criticized For Horrific Accuracy Against Boston College

Following last year’s perfect regular season and ACC Championship that resulted in selection committee heartbreaking a blowout loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, Florida State needed a quarterback to replace the graduated Jordan Travis. Head Coach Mike Norvell decided to get former Clemson and Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei out of the transfer portal.

But, Florida State has now started a disastrous 0-2 after getting dominated by Boston College, 28-13, in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score suggests. And, a lot of that 0-2 start rests on the very inaccurate right arm of DJ Uiagalelei.

DJ Uiagalelei struggled mightily once again on Monday night, frequently missing wide open receivers, checking the ball down, and showing poor pocket presence. Some of these inaccurate misses were truly something to behold.

Those are just two of a bunch of really poor throws in a  game in which he was an uninspiring 21-42 for 272 yards with a touchdown and interception. And, even when he did make accurate throws, his Seminole teammates often dropped the passes.

Unforuntately for DJ Uiagalelei, who burst onto the scene in a big way in 2020 when he filled in admirably for Trevor Lawrence after Lawrence contracted COVID, he’s getting meme’d to death on Twitter.

DJ Uiagalelei wasn’t great against Georgia Tech in the team’s Week 0 loss by any means. But, Saturday was a big-time regression for not just him but for a Florida State team that looks completely lost after last season’s heartbreak.
