Florida State was a top-10 team in the college football preseason rankings. The Seminoles dropped to 1-8 with another ugly home loss on Saturday in front of a mostly empty crowd at Doak S. Campbell Stadium.
Two ruthless hecklers were among the few who did attend the game and they gave the players a piece of their mind for 60 minutes straight.
Although their physical attendance was appreciated, their behavior did not have a positive impact on the team. They were rather unkind toward the players and the coaching staff— who could absolutely hear them from the sideline.
Florida State announced its game against North Carolina as a sellout over the summer. It was supposed to be a high-stakes matchup in the ACC that might have a major impact on the Playoff. It ended up being a total dud. Neither the Seminoles nor the Tar Heels are going to compete for a national championship. The former will not even make a bowl game.
As a result, the sellout crowd did not come anywhere close to max capacity.

Here’s a look at the crowd in Doak Campbell Stadium on November 2. #Noles pic.twitter.com/w9VMEftN0g
People emptied out as the game went on. Especially after the visitors went up 21-3 in the third quarter.
Mike Norvell, this is what you’ve turned Florida State into by allowing this season to go the way it has. Great job killing a fanbase and the home field advantage that comes with it. pic.twitter.com/FDcod0CF7E

Two of the Florida State fans who did stick around for all four quarters moved from their assigned bleacher seats to a pair of handicap chairs located right behind the home bench. The stadium was quiet enough to hear a pin drop so everything they said to the Seminoles was audible on the field.
One of them, wearing No. 12, was far more kind than his friend. According to boots on the ground, he just wanted to see four-star freshman quarterback Trever Jackson get in the game.
The same cannot be said for the other guy, wearing No. 3. Take a listen for yourself:

No matter how poorly a team is performing, that kind of fan conduct should not be tolerated. In no situation is that acceptable.
