Syracuse head coach Fran Brown did not get to shower after his college football team lost to Miami by 28 points on Saturday. Only winners get washed.

Unfortunately, second-year college football coach had his routine thrown right back in his face by a rowdy fan at Hard Rock Stadium. He snapped.
Fran Brown did not shower.
Brown was hired as the head football coach at Syracuse in 2024 after a long career as the defensive backs coach at Georgia, Rutgers, Temple and Baylor. The Orange went 10-3 in his first season at the helm.
This year is not going quite as well.
Syracuse dropped to 3-7 with a loss to Miami. The Hurricanes took awhile to get going but they eventually pulled away to win by 28 points, 38-10.
As a result, Fran Brown did not get to shower on Saturday night. He doesn’t deserve soap.
The 43-year-old detailed his unusual post-loss routine during a press conference last season. His wife does not let him sleep in the bed because he does not shower because only “winners get washed.”

Brown’s refusal to shower has become one of the best storylines in college football over the last two years.

It came back to haunt him on Saturday.
Miami fans got Syracuse’s head coach to snap.
A frustrated Fran Brown made his way back into the tunnel to the locker room after the loss to the Canes. As he did, a group of unruly Miami fans let him have it.
They heckled him for losing, which means he is not allowed to shower. One particular fan (who goes by @canesideline on X) called him a “sorry a–” and “dirty a–” who is not getting washed tonight.
Syracuse’s head coach yelled back at the fan. Exactly what he said in the video is inaudible but the players and staffers around him (even the armed security guard) were laughing so it must’ve been good.

Although I do not condone this kind of fan behavior, if this was truly the full extent of the fan’s comments, I have heard a lot worse. And honestly, the callback to winners getting washed is kinda funny.
Brown disagrees. He decided to respond and, knowing him, his response was hilarious.
