Frankie Collins transferred to play college basketball at Vanderbilt during the offseason. If Facebook Marketplace is any indication, it appears as though his time with the program is coming to an end.
The fifth-year senior recently started to list the furniture from his apartment in Nashville.
One of the weirdest tenures in recent college basketball history seems to be nearing its conclusion. He will likely re-enter the transfer portal for the fourth time in six years.
Who is Frankie Collins?
Collins does not stay in one place for very long. The Sacramento, California-native played started his high school basketball career at Ed W. Clark High School in Las Vegas, transferred to Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona as a junior and then transferred back to Las Vegas at Coronado as a senior.
He rated as a four-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2021.
Collins ultimately committed to Michigan over USC, Arizona and Arizona State, among others. The 6-foot-1 point guard was a big part of Juwan Howard’s first recruiting class, which was the top-ranked class in the country that year. He averaged 2.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 11 minutes per game as a freshman.
And then it was off to the portal!
Frankie Collins averaged four rebounds, two assists and more than 10 points in ~32 minutes per game in 2022-23 and 2023-24. The Sun Devils made the NCAA Tournament during his sophomore season.
And then it was off to the portal, again!
Collins spent last season at TCU. He played in only nine games due to a broken foot.
And then it was off to the portal, again!
Collins landed at Vanderbilt for the 2025-26 season but the 24-year-old has played in only nine games because of a new injury. He has not played since Dec. 17 against Memphis.
This is where things get weird.
Is Vanderbilt’s injured point guard going to transfer?
Head coach Mark Byington said on Jan. 31 that Frankie Collins was medically cleared to return from a knee injury. The goal was to get him back on the court as soon as possible.
“Frankie is medically cleared, and we just got to get him going. So, hopefully this bye week’s the one. But he’s got to push himself and get ready. I know we counted on him, we invested in him. He’s a guy who can really help us win. So hopefully he has the same motivation to get back.”
Collins still has not played. When asked whether he is still on the team, Byington did not give an answer.
“We’re figuring it out. I’ll update you guys when we have a definite answer. But, he’s not going to, back or not back, is not going to damper what we’re doing tonight. But I will give you updates as soon as I have one. No updates right now.”
He said that on Feb. 25. Collins did not play in a win over Georgia that night or loss to Kentucky on Saturday. Why? Nobody knows.
However, Vanderbilt Hustler deputy sports editor Eli Landers noticed something unusual about the extended absence. Collins posted and sold his love seat/ottoman on Facebook Marketplace.

I can confirm it is the same Frankie Collins that plays college basketball at Vanderbilt. He sold his stuff.
This could be nothing. Maybe Collins got a new love seat/ottoman. Perhaps he decided to free up some space in his living room. Or it could be a sign of what is to come. Back to the transfer portal!
