Amidst the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrating their ninth World Series, first baseman Freddie Freeman cut loose on the dance floor. He was hitting the worm so hard the streets were wondering why they hadn’t seen the Fountain Valley, California native do that dance before.

Later, Freddie Freeman would explain why his rendition of ‘The Worm’ has been kept in the closet for years: he was banned from doing it back in 2008!

The three-time World Series champion spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Atlanta Braves who drafted him in the 2007 MLB Draft with the 78th overall pick. While he was earning his at bats in the minor leagues in Charleston, Freddie Freeman was apparently busting out ‘The Worm’ left and right.

As you can see from this clip, the dude has some elevation on the dance floor:

If you watched that and the first thing you thought was ‘that looks like it could lead to an injury’ then you’re either a wet blanket or a Dodgers fan who cares too much about Freddie Freeman’s well being.

Asked about his dancing the next day, Freddie says the Braves banned him from doing the dance back in 2008:

Evidently, the Los Angeles Dodgers are okay with Freddie Freeman doing The Worm after helping to win them a second World Series since he arrived in the City of Angels in 2022.

For those wondering, because I know I was, Freddie Freeman has earned $198,739,279 playing baseball in his career. He is set to earn $15 million next season and the year after before getting paid $4M to $5M every year until 2040.

Baseball contracts break my brain these days, how does that make any sense at all?!
