In Gainesville, Georgia, the Johnson High School Knights are probably getting tired of seeing the North Hall High School Trojans. Because on Tuesday night, North Hall defeated Johnson in a baseball game 46-0.
Making matters even worse for the Knights, North Hall also beat Johnson 63-0 in football this past fall. So the Knights have now been outscored 109-0 combined by the Trojans in just two games in two different sports this school year.
As one fan joked on X, “At some point it becomes a Hate Crime.”
The Trojans hit seven home runs during Tuesday’s baseball game. Jake Beard of North Hall High School finished 7-for-7 with two doubles, two home runs (one a grand slam) and 11 RBI. Thomas Davis of the Trojans also homered twice and drove in four runs.
The game was eventually called because of not one, but two mercy rules, or the score could have been worse.
The Gainesville Times reported that the game was the first of a doubleheader. However, MaxPreps has no record of a second game being played that day. Perhaps discretion was the better part of valor for Johnson, and it was not played.
North Hall is now 16-6 on the season, outscoring their opponents 214 to 52. Johnson, on the other hand, dropped to 0-18 and has been outscored 343 to 4 this season. That’s right, three hundred and forty-three to just four. Three of those four runs came in one game, against Discovery High School on Feb. 12. They have been shutout in every other game but one, a season-opening 28-1 loss.
Johnson didn’t fare much better in football last fall. The Knights went 0-10 and were outscored 555-54 in their 10 games.
