Uncertainty currently surrounds Georgia football star Nate Frazier. The running back has not signed an NIL contract for the 2026 season, according to those close to the program.
With his status with the Bulldogs unclear, tampering allegations have surfaced online. Is he weighing his options of a potential transfer exit?
Georgia’s season ended in the College Football Playoff with a loss to Ole Miss. Now, the focus turns to next year.
Kirby Smart’s ability to keep the current roster intact will be critical. Frazier plays a large role in future success.
Nate Frazier has not committed to Georgia.
Insider Rusty Mansell provided an update on the situation this week. He says a ’26 NIL agreement has not been reached.
“Nate Frazier has not signed a new contract with Georgia despite some meetings with staff and his agents over the last 48 hours…
“A lot goes into something like this, and I don’t think it’s a bad look on Frazier. There are a lot of different people in the ears of these young men, but, at the end of the day, I think it came down to putting some extra thought into it and where he wanted to ultimately end his college career.”
Mansell ultimately believes the running back will play for the Bulldogs next season. With that being said, he also understands that Frazier is a talented player that has options.
In 2025, he totaled 1,063 yards from scrimmage as the lead back. That came after a breakout freshman season in which he rushed for more than 670 yards and eight scores.
He should again be the top option if he comes back to Athens. As noted, that return is not 100%.
Frazier has been linked to other schools.
Most recently, a rumor of Ohio State interest surfaced online. It sparked tampering accusations given his current status with Georgia.
Nate Frazier is NOT in the transfer portal. While he has not agreed to his terms with the Bulldogs for ’26, it is still against NCAA rule for other suitors to make contact.
The tailback has been all Georgia since signing with the program in 2023, making the possibility of a transfer exit all the more surprising.

Frazier added fuel to the fire with his latest Instagram post, which came days after the Georgia football season ended. He added a photo of biblical passage titled, “Fresh Start.”
That post could be completely unrelated to his current NIL situation. He could ultimately return to Georgia.
Until the paperwork is signed, there will be doubt. And should he choose to leave for another program, there will be questions surrounding the timeline of his conversations.
