Georgia Tech went into Ireland and beat Florida State in front of 30,000 Seminoles fans to begin the 2024 college football season. The Yellow Jackets then proceeded to dance on FSU’s grave during a savage postgame celebration.

They saw their opponent’s viral TikTok and took it personally!

Florida State arrived to Dublin on Wednesday evening. Not long thereafter, backup quarterback Trever Jackson, wide receivers Elijah Moore and LaWayne McCoy, and defensive end D.D. Holmes went for a walk. While on their stroll, they recorded a video of themselves doing their best attempt at a river dance.

It was hilarious and harmless. A group of freshman were having fun on the road and there is nothing wrong with that! There have been far worse videos to come from the social media era of college football. They didn’t jinx anything. They didn’t guarantee a victory. Nothing like that.

However, the Irish jig came back to haunt them.

Georgia Tech won the game on a walk-off field goal and took down the No. 10 team in the country. And as the winners of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, players were presented the crystal helmet trophy.

Freshman linebacker Bayler Duncan even tried it on for size!

Meanwhile, his teammates mocked the Seminoles with a River Dance of their own.

The Yellow Jackets saw Jackson’s TikTok and threw it right back in their faces. They were ruthless.

Even though the Week 0 slate was pretty weak, Saturday’s season-opener from Dublin was a treat from start to finish. Not only was it a tremendous game through all four quarters, we got our first troll job of the season. Georgia Tech won the game and jigged their way all of the way back to Atlanta while Florida State was forced to sit in sadness on the long flight back to the United States. College football is back!
