Barring a miraculous undefeated run over its next 10 games, Clemson had its 2025 college football season come to an end with a loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Playoff is now an afterthought.
If losing was not bad enough, the Tigers were ushered off of the field to the anthem of their rival.
The Yellow Jackets treated their college football opponent to a demoralizing taste of ‘Sandstorm’ as the fans stormed onto the field. It was salt in the would.
Dabo Swinney and Clemson cooked.
I don’t know whether Clemson is going to move on from the greatest head coach in program history because of a few frustrating seasons. However, this year’s team was coming off of an ACC Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance.
It was ranked inside the top-five in most preseason rankings. (Not like rankings matter anyway!)
This roster was supposed to get Swinney back to mountaintop. Cade Klubnik was the next coming of Christ.
Tigers, whhhhaaaattttt haaaaapppppppeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnedddddd???
Regardless of whether Clemson decided to move on from its head coach or not, he proved on Saturday that the game has passed him by. He has lost his touch.
Georgia Tech is a strong program with a great coach and a great college quarterback. That does not excuse the loss to LSU, slow start against Troy or the crushing, (likely) season-ending defeat in Atlanta. The Tigers’ offense looked klunky. The defense allowed Haynes King to account for 87% of total yards gained by its opponent.
The party is on at Georgia Tech!
Fans stormed onto the field at Bobby Dodd Stadium as soon as the clock hit zero. It was an incredible scene that reminds us all of how much we love college football.

The Yellow Jackets will be fined $50,000 by the ACC but I am sure they don’t care. They will also have to replace one of the goal posts.
Can confirm the crossbars are safe but the goal posts have been taken by the Georgia Tech students.

Students carried it out of the stadium.

It eventually made its way to the nearest body of water, which was the pool at the president’s mansion.

Meanwhile, the Georgia Tech fans who remained on the field were treated to an incredible troll from the stadium operations crew. They played ‘Sandstorm’ over the loudspeakers.

Sandstorm is South Carolina’s song. South Carolina is Clemson’s biggest rival.
College football is the best.
