Last week, former NFL tight end turned Fox Sports play-by-play analyst Greg Olsen made some comments about the guy who replaced him in the Fox Sports broadcasting booth: Tom Brady. This week, Olsen set the record straight, clarifying his remarks about Tom Brady-broadcasted games being “hard to watch.”

“Yeah, it’s hard to sit there and watch games that over the last couple of years you were preparing for, and you were calling,” Greg Olsen said last week. “And then you’re sitting there on your couch and you’re watching the game, you’re almost kind of broadcasting the game in your brain. You’re saying, ‘Oh, man, what would I have said on this play? There was so much to talk about there. That would’ve been super fun to dive into.’”

Olsen did admit that he doesn’t “think resentment’s probably accurate, but I also think it’s not too far off if I’m being honest.” He also said he holds no personal resentment towards Tom Brady. Many fans missed that part though, so this week while down in New Orleans, Greg Olsen expounded on his thoughts about Brady broadcasting for Fox Sports on Good Morning Football.

“I want to be very clear. I know my comments last week kind of took on a crazy storm,” Olsen said to Kyle Brandt. “I actually talked to Tom. I’ve talked to Tom regularly throughout the season. We’ve gotten to know each other really well, I have a ton of respect for him, which goes without saying, as a player. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know him as a guy since he joined Fox.

“So, like this whole narrative of like, ‘I hate watching him call games’ and all that is not true. So here I am, on national TV, setting the record… I have no personal, I like Tom. I want to see him… I try to help him, I answer questions to the best I can. I want to see him do well, I want to see him and Kevin and E.A. and Tom Rinaldi have a great broadcast, I don’t have any personal animosity.”

Everybody got that? All is well at Fox Sports. Well, not everything, but Olsen and Brady are good.
