It’s not every day you see someone steal home plate and when it happens it is absolutely electrifying.
On Thursday, the Cleveland Guardians were taking on the Kansas City Royals in what turned out to be an incredibly close matchup.
In the top of the 10th, two outs, and Jose Ramirez standing on third, the Guardians had an opportunity to take a lead.
However, Ramirez took matters into his own hands (his coaches may have made the call) and decided to steal home plate, even though his teammate was 0-2 on the count.
After sliding into home, the umpire immediately called Ramirez out. But the superstar third baseman asked for a review of the play. Eventually, he was called safe, giving the Guardians a 3-2 lead in a crucial moment in the game.
Here is the wild play that has everyone talking.

The guts someone has to have to go steal third in that situation is insane. Jose Ramirez is incredible at baseball and he showed that on this play.
Unfortunately for him, the Royals bounced back in the bottom of the 10th and ended up stealing the win away from the Guardians.
Regardless, MLB fans were more stunned with Ramirez than anything else.
That dude is like really, really great at baseball

It was the perfect situation and the Guardians third baseman took advantage.
Left handed pitcher that takes forever. Do it.

Maybe we’ll see more plays like this from Jose Ramirez in the future, especially if the Guardians remain red hot.
Look for Cleveland to get back in the win column on Friday as they begin their next series against the Chicago Cubs.
