Haason Reddick will supposedly show up to work on Monday after a confusing and lengthy holdout. He is not going to lose as much money as expected because the New York Jets are letting him off the hook.

All of his fines are formally dissolved!

This bizarre saga started back in March when the Jets sent a conditional third-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Reddick, one of the better edge rushers in the NFL. The 30-year-old showed up to his introductory news conference with New York on April 1 and then never returned. Literally.

Reddick did not show up for OTAs. He did not report to training camp. Nor did he play in the first seven games of the season. His holdout lasted more than six months. It will not make it to seven.

Haason Reddick is back!

Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that Reddick is going to show up to work on Monday. The Jets finally reached an agreement with their formerly awol defensive star through his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. They will continue to work on a long-term extension.

Reddick lost a good chunk of money from his holdout. It cost him no less than $5 million in game checks, which would’ve come out to approximately $800,000 per game.

However, New York has decided to cut him a break. The organization is choosing not to fine Reddick for all of his missed time, which would total more than $12 million. He will not get paid for the time he was not on the field but he also will not be penalized.

The Jets are desperate to win after starting the year at 2-4 despite legitimate Super Bowl hopes. They granted Aaron Rodgers his wish and traded for Davante Adams. They let Reddick off the hook for his fines, which would’ve essentially paid for his remaining contract this season if enforced.

New York bent the knee to its new edge rusher with hopes that he is actually going to practice with the team on Monday to prepare for next Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. We will see!
