Hailey Van Lith Gives Honest Reaction To Getting Cooked By Caitlin Clark

Hailey Van Lith did not have a good time guarding Caitlin Clark during their Elite 8 game.

On Monday night, Lith was absolutely destroyed by Clark. At one point, an exasperated Van Lith raised her arms in defeat after Clark hit a deep three-pointer in her face.

During her postgame press conference, Van Lith was asked about Clark’s 41-point game, and she was honest about what went down on the court.

“Caitlin is very skilled, she’s a great player, she hit some tough shots and there’s not a whole lot you can do about some of the threes she hit, and the team around her that plays a role, they did a good job executing their role.”

LSU head coach Kim Mulkey also gave her honest assessment of Clark beating down her team.

“There’s not a whole lot of strategy, you gotta guard her, nobody else seems to be able to guard her, we didn’t even guard her last year when we beat them, she’s just a generational player and she just makes everybody around her better. That’s what the great ones do.

“Caitlin Clark is not going to beat you by herself, it’s what she does to make those other teammates better that helps her score points and them score points to beat you”

“What did I say to her? I sure am glad you’re leaving, I said girl you’re something else, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
