A high school basketball game in West Virginia was called early when an all-out brawl erupted before the final buzzer. The game took place between Man High School and Mount View in Welch.

The on-court action was close throughout, with the contest ending at a score of 47-43. Tempers flared with about 15 seconds left in regulation, causing both sides to leave the floor early.

The game took place at Mount View’s home arena, where the Golden Knights entered at 7-5 on the year. The visiting Hillbillies looked to leave with a road victory but would ultimately be turned away.

The Knights took a 20-17 lead into the halftime break, and they continued to hold that lead throughout the second half. With under 30 seconds remaining, they gained a 47-42 advantage after a quick 5-0 run.

Man High added a point at the free throw line to close the gap and quickly tried to force a turnover on the ensuing inbound play. They’d be unsuccessful in that steal attempt, leading to a foul in hopes of extending the game. That’s when the drama began.

As Mount View prepared to got to the charity stripe, pushing and shoving was seen between a pair of players. As the two sides tried to navigate the situation, a Hillbilly hooper rushed towards the opposing bench and leapt up with what can only be described as a “flying ninja kick.”

Benches soon cleared and punches were thrown. The high school basketball teams were eventually separated and escorted off the court. The contest was called with 15 seconds still left on the clock.

Mount View picked up the 47-43 win following the chaotic ending. The full game can be seen HERE. It will be interesting to see if there are any repercussions for either side after the melee.
