The longest losing streak in high school football history will officially continue into next year after another unfortunate result on Friday night. Columbia High School lost every single one of its game during the 2024 season, which has been a demoralizing annual trend for almost a decade.
The Eagles are 0-91 in their last 91 games. Seriously.
Columbia is located in Huntsville, Alabama and enrolls approximately 1,000 students from grades 9-12. Its football team is the worst of all-time. Quite literally.
Glascock County High School in Georgia previously held the record for longest losing streak in high school football after going 0-82 from 1990 to 1999. Other lengthy streaks exceed 60-straight games.
- 80 — Davis (Houston, Texas), 1985-93
- 79 — Sturgis (S.D.), 1997-2006
- 77 — Diamond Hill (Texas), 2010-17
- 72 — Iberia (Mo.), 1965-74
- 70 — Glenville (Minn.), 1978-86
- 69 — Red Boiling Springs (Tenn.), 1986-93
- 69 — Edinburg (Ind.), 2002-09
- 68 — R.C. Hatch (Uniontown, Ala.), 1997-2005

The Eagles actually tied the record in 2023. They went 0-10. That 10th loss extended their losing streak to 82 games in a row.
Columbia High School moved into the solo lead with its 83rd-straight loss on August 22nd. It finished its season on Friday with yet another loss and dropped to 0-10, again.
The worst high school football team of all-time last won a game on Oct. 16, 2015!
Not only are the Eagles losing, they are getting blown out along the way. This year’s combined score of 510-82 reflects five losses by more than 50 points. Columbia lost half of its games by half a hundred…
Friday’s final score of 24-14 was the closest margin of defeat all year. The Eagles were at one point within four points during the fourth quarter!
However, Columbia was eventually forced to punt and could not keep its opponent out of the end zone. It marked the Alabama high school’s 91st loss in 91 games over nine years. Brutal.
