A high school football referee paid the price after accidentally intercepting a pass on the field. He unintentionally made himself a part of the action!

The unplanned pick occurred in Hawaii during a game between Castle High School and Aiea.

Castle quarterback Noa Sebay dropped back to pass on the play, rolling out to his left before attempting to make a throw down the field. The attempt sailed a bit high and was unable to be hauled in by the wide receiver.

Instead, the ball was tipped into the air, soon landing in the hands of an unsuspecting referee. The defense was unsure of what to do in the moment, with one player quickly wrapping up the referee for a tackle.

He played until he heard the whistle blow!

The referee shook the hit off as he got back up to his feet. He didn’t know he’d pay the price for the accidental interception!

Play quickly resumed after what would go down as an incomplete pass. Aiea would go onto win the contest, 45-6 after taking a dominant 31-point lead in the first half of action.

Sebay would end his day with a pair of picks thrown. Luckily, this third one didn’t count against him!
