Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more ridiculous for Deion Sanders and the Colorado football program, they went and took another bizarre twist on Thursday night.

A hit-and-run suspect was arrested after driving his truck through the gates of Colorado’s Folsom Field before eventually coming to a stop on the field, leaving large tire tracks along the way.

Police Issue Statement On Hit And Run Driver Crashing Into Colorado’s Folsom Field

The Boulder Police Department released the following statement on the incident:

“If you see a large police presence near Folsom Field it’s because we have been coordinating with @CUBoulderPolice
to arrest a hit and run driver who fled the scene of a crash at Foothills Pkwy & Arapahoe & entered the stadium. The suspect is now in custody & there’s no threat to the community.”

Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident.

Of course, fans had some fun with the incident, taking shots at Colorado in the process.

Most effective drive that field will see the rest of the season,” Twitter user @ClaffTrash wrote.

Word is this guy just wants his rap song played after Buffs TDs too, per source (probably),” Doug Samuels of  FootballScoop joked.

And there were plenty more where that came from.

Bro probably has more rushing yards running from the cops on the field than CU has had all season,” @LordKadidy wrote.

While Twitter user @UnhUnh_GetMoney took a different angle.

I know a man who lost the house betting on Colorado to beat Nebraska when I see one,” he said.

The field itself actually looked like it was in pretty rough condition following the incident. Thankfully for the university, the Buffs head on the road this week to take on in-state rival Colorado State.
