Newly retired NFL superstar Jason Kelce drew the ire of horse racing fans everywhere when he boldly suggested that 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat took steroids.
As it turns out, he may have been onto something.
Horse racing expert and NBC Sports commentator Randy Moss (no, the other one) says that Kelce’s claims may not be far off base.
“He was extremely sub fertile…”
We had to ask horse racing expert @Randy_Moss_TV about @JasonKelce's idea that Secretariat might have been on Steroids on latest EVEN MONEY podcast: pic.twitter.com/A9y1xfQAUH

Randy Moss Says Secretariat Using Steroids Is Entirely Reasonable
“There’s no way to be able to prove anything,” Moss began in an interview with ex-NFL vet Ross Tucker. “…It’s not a completely absurd idea.
“And here’s another little piece of evidence. When Secretariat retired at the end of his three-year-old year and he was syndicated for $6 million, which in 1973 was a hell of a lot of money … when he was initially retired to stud and they did the fertility tests, he was extremely sub-fertile. And then after a while the fertility began to recover until finally he was okay. But that was a concern when he was first retired. And that is also a side-effect of steroid use.
“And on top of it all, he was so much different looking from all the other horses basically that were around him … talking to people, they said even if you didn’t know anything about horses at all, and you saw a group of 15-20 race horses and you told somebody ‘one of those is Secretariat, pick him out,’ it’d be easy. Because he was such a statuesque physical specimen compared to the other horses that he competed against.”
MAKES YOU THINK!
Now, we at BroBible dot com do not want to sully the name of a good horse.
These are all just allegations and even if the horse was juicing, it’s not like the horse knew.
But maybe we need to lay off Jason Kelce a bit and accept that he may well be right about this one.
