There’s usually no shortage of beer cans flying through the air during championship parades, and the Super Bowl procession that made its way through Philadelphia on Friday was no exception. Unfortunately, Eagles GM Howie Roseman failed to keep his head on a swivel and ended up sporting a gnarly wound as a result.
Eagles fans had to wait seven years for the Lombardi Trophy to make its grand return to Philadelphia, and there was little doubt we were going to be treated to quite the scene for the parade that was expected to draw more than a million people into the streets of The City of Brotherly Love in the wake of the team’s victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
People started camping out on sidewalks overnight for a celebration that officially kicked off near Lincoln Financial Field at 11 A.M. when the buses transporting players, coaches, and other personnel embarked on the journey that transported them to the rally on the iconic steps leading up to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Howie Roseman, the man largely responsible for putting together the Super Bowl-winning roster, was aboard one of the open-top buses that gave fans a clear view of the most recent batch of NFL champions but also made the people riding on them vulnerable to projectiles in the form of the many beer cans being chucked their way by the adoring crowd.
Unfortunately for Roseman, one of those cans made a beeline for his forehead and left a very noticeable mark in the form of the bloody gash he ended up sporting.

Based on the brief interview Roseman conducted with NBC10 after he was struck where he confirmed the source of the injury by simply stating “BEER CAN!,” the GM was still in pretty good spirits despite the slight setback.
He’s a true champ in multiple senses of the word.
