Garrett Graham recently enrolled at IMG Academy to play high school football. The undersized defensive lineman worked extremely hard to transform his body over the last few years and continues to get stronger with each new day.

Diet plays a big role in that change!

The rising sophomore high school football player recently detailed everything he eats in a single day at one of the premier high school sports programs in the world. It focuses on protein and fuel.

What is IMG Academy?

For those who are not familiar, IMG academy is a premier sports training and educational institution located in Bradenton, Florida. It offers a blend of college-preparatory academics and elite athletic development.

Top high school athletes forgo the traditional schooling experience to attend IMG with the intent of playing their respective sport on the collegiate level. Their daily schedules feature just as much training in the weight room and on the court/field as they do academics.

IMG’s top football program is consistently one of the top-ranked teams in the country. The entire academy is split into four distinct teams:

  • National Team
    • The premier high school squad.
  • Junior National Team
    • The second-division roster.
  • State Team
    • The third-division team, focused on in-state competition.
  • Post-Graduate Program
    • Non-game training for recent high school graduates.

I do not know where Garrett Graham will be placed! The rising sophomore arrived to Florida earlier this summer with hopes of playing on the next level in three years.

Football and food go hand-in-hand!

Graham used to play for for Chapin High School in South Carolina. He worked extremely hard to transform his body from the end of eighth grade to the end of ninth.

  • End of 8th —
    • Weight: 300 pounds
    • Bench: 95 pounds
    • Squat: 225 pounds
  • End of 9th —
    • Weight: 245 pounds
    • Bench: 270 pounds
    • Squat: 385 pounds

His goal at IMG Academy is to keep getting better as a player, obviously. The rising sophomore in high school must also focus on his physique.

With that in mind, Graham adheres to a very strict diet. Protein is the main focus of his daily food intake but hydration and carbohydrates are just as important to on-field performance.

He also keeps a food reserve in his dorm room and every snack serves a purpose!

His daily supplements help to keep him in top physical shape as well!

I don’t know whether Garrett Graham is going to make the National Team at IMG during his first season. We’ll see. Regardless of what happens in 2025, he is setting himself up for continued growth on and off of the field in the future. And that starts with diet! Food is the gateway to success.
