IndyCar driver Sting Ray Robb had a no good, very bad weekend at Iowa Speedway. But somehow, things got even worse for Robb and Juncos Hollinger Racing team after they left the track.
Robb, who sits 24th out of 27 full-time drivers in the IndyCar standings, qualified 24th for both races of the double-header weekend. He then finished 22nd, one-lap down, on Saturday before crashing out of Sunday’s race and finishing in 23rd.
Meanwhile, Robb’s teammate Conor Daly ran in the top 10 for much of the weekend and brought home finishes of 7th and 16th, with bad luck hampering an otherwise strong race on Sunday. Daly sits in 18th in the series standings, 64 points ahead of his teammate.
But if that were not bad enough for Robb, things got even worse after the race weekend ended, as the trailer carrying his car back the team headquarters in Indianapolis caught fire.

Thankfully, it appears that the driver of the trailer was able to notice the fire and contact authorities before anyone was injured. It also appears that Robb’s car made it out of the fire without any significant damage (apart from the damage he did during the crash in the race).
Robb, 23, is in his third full season in IndyCar and has just two top-10 finishes in 47 career starts. For comparison sake, Daly has three top-10 finishes this season and gave Juncos Hollinger its first podium finish in team history last season at Gateway Motorsports Park outside of St. Louis.
Which is to say, while Robb seems like a good guy, he might not be long for the IndyCar Series. Or, at very least, he may well struggle to keep his spot at Juncos Hollinger next season.
