Golfers at the Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware were stunned to see a blue Ford Bronco driving on the course on Thursday.
At around 2:20 p.m., Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control officers responded to 911 calls that an SUV had driven on to one of the holes at a high rate of speed and struck a golf cart, ejecting its passenger.
Videos of the incident show the Ford Bronco narrowly missing one golf cart parked near a green and a golfer fleeing in terror. The Bronco then hit a second golf cart, knocking its passenger to the ground, then drove in a circle over a hill and back towards the road.
Police said the golfer who was ejected from the golf cart “received minor injuries,” but declined medical treatment at the scene.

1st State Update reports that police officers were able to quickly locate the Ford Bronco and take the driver into custody without incident.
Police reported that when they arrested the driver of the Bronco, he “made statements which required his transport to a hospital for evaluation.”
He was reportedly charged with a slew of crimes including Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Drug (misdemeanor), Reckless Endanger First Degree Creates a Substantial Risk of Death to Another (felony), Leaving the Scene of a Collision Resulting in Injury (misdemeanor), Malicious Mischief by a Motor Vehicle (misdemeanor), Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession (misdemeanor), Operating a Motor Vehicle on Division Roads/Areas Not Designated for Such Purpose (violation), and Operating a Motor Vehicle on Division Lands with Willful Disregard for Safety of Persons/Property (violation).
One person on Reddit claimed to be one of the golfers on the course in video of the bizarre incident.
“So I am in this video,” he wrote. “I am the guy that runs out of the way right before the driver plows into the golf cart my buddy was in.
“We had just finished up the 16th hole and somebody was doing doughnuts all over the driving range. I pulled out my phone to try and get a picture of his license plate to turn into the clubhouse. The driver saw I was recording him and turned to try and run me over.
“At this point all we know was the driver has been apprehended by the police and we have given our statements. We don’t know motive or anything else. It went from ‘I’m taking pictures of some idiot’ to ‘oh he’s trying to murder me’ in about 0.5 seconds. AMA.”
He also added, “We didn’t finish the last two [holes] after we almost died… It kind of killed the vibe.”
