Jake Paul Doesn’t Hold Back When Discussing Conor McGregor ‘Ruining His Legacy’

Jake Paul isn’t typically one to hold back if he has an opinion on something, and he didn’t do so when discussing Conor McGregor on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.

Host Ariel Helwani asked Paul about McGregor potentially attending the upcoming boxing match between he and Mike Perry, and his response was nothing short of shocking.

Jake Paul Slams Conor McGregor In Interview About Potential Fight

“He needs to attend rehab,” Paul stated. “Look, we can get him a fourth or fifth row ticket. But he’s kind of lost his celebrity and star power. I don’t think people really care about him but I’m sure I could comp him a fourth or fifth row.”

McGregor was scheduled to make his long-awaited UFC return at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. But that fight was (yet again) postponed due to an undisclosed injury. Former UFC star Chael Sonnen even suggested that McGregor was in rehab, not injured. Though McGregor’s team vehemently denied those allegations.

McGregor has not fought in the UFC since July of 2021. He has not won a UFC fight since January of 2020, and he’s 1-3 in his last four UFC fights.

Paul now claims that the former two-division champion is just “embarrassing himself” each time he’s in the news.

“I would disagree [he’s still the biggest draw],” Paul said. “There’s new sheriffs in town. He hasn’t won a fight in what six or seven years? I don’t even know how long it’s been. He’s embarrassing himself. He’s ruining his legacy with all the drugs and the way he looks online. He’s lost his mind, he’s a maniac.

“At one point, Conor was great. Everyone loved Conor but I feel bad for the guy now. You could say all these things about him but he hasn’t proven it, he hasn’t backed anything up and that’s the way I look at it is from the facts and the numbers.”

McGregor is perhaps the most polarizing figure in all of combat sports. But it’s hard to argue with the facts that Paul presents about his recent history.
