Jake Paul may have issues with Gervonta Davis, but he’s praising the boxing star ahead of his big fight against Lamont Roach on Saturday night.
Hours before the fight, Paul said he was tuning in because he respects Davis, who has been critical of the Saudi takeover of boxing, for “standing on his own” and “representing America” while many boxers have gone overseas to fight.
Gervonta has my respect. Inside the ring, he comes to fight. 1 of the top 5 in the world right now. Outside the ring, he is standing on his own & representing America.
I fuck with it. I would destroy him in the ring given the size. But I fuck with what he represents. Tuning in…

Last month, Paul bashed Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez for signing a deal with the Saudis instead of fighting him.
“Canelo Alvarez ducked me Jake Paul and is now an owned slave with no regard for the pride of the Mexican people who support him on US soil. it’s not surprising when his whole career he has done nothing for the sport of boxing outside the ring. I’m the new face of boxing.”
Earlier this week, Davis criticized boxers for going to Saudi Arabia to fight and take pictures with Saudi backer Turki Alalshikh.
Gervonta Davis: “That picture with everybody was in the room(with Turki)…that look like some devil sh*t. Didn’t it?! Devil sh*t, like they sold their souls.”
