Jake Paul is not a big fan of MMA at the moment. Paul, who is currently signed with the PFL, doesn’t seem keen on transitioning from MMA to boxing anytime soon.
During an interview with All The Smoke, Paul criticized MMA as a worse version of boxing. According to the YouTuber-turned-boxer, boxing has surpassed MMA in terms of entertainment in recent years.
“MMA is not what it was, that’s the truth of the matter. Boxing is bigger than ever. The biggest sporting event of the year, in 2024, was boxing. The biggest event of 2024 was boxing, MMA is a sh—ier version of boxing. Everyone is good at takedown defense and everyone is a black belt. So there’s no submissions, theres not a lot of takedowns, and even if there is its f—ing boring… it’s literally kickboxing.”

MMA fans bashed Paul over his take.
“Jake Paul talking about MMA being boring after that Tyson debacle is absolutely mental.” commented MMA journalist Luke Thomas.
Paul doesn’t seem to care about MMA fans considering he’s making a ton of money boxing.
