Jake Paul Wants $50K Minimum Pay For UFC Fighters

Jake Paul is once again speaking out about fighter pay.

Last year, Paul told Mike Tyson that he doesn’t hate UFC CEO Dana White but only wants the UFC to pay their fighters more.

“I don’t hate him either, I just want him to pay fighters more,” Paul said on “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.” “You know, now that the company is making billions of dollars a year, and the fighters are only getting 15 percent of it. That’s really where all of it stems from, is wanting higher fighter pay and long-term health care for the fighters.”

“Obviously, we’ve gotten into these exchanges that muddies the purpose of why I’ve argued with him. You know, he throws out the fights are rigged, he’s on steroids; then I say something back about him being bald and ugly. It gets too messy and then we start going back and forth.”

During a recent episode of his podcast, Paul called on the UFC to pay their fighters a minimum of $50k.

“The only thing I’ve really asked for is for the minimum fighter pay which is $12,500 to be changed to $50,000. So if fighters, who have to work multiple jobs, if they fight once a year even, they would be able to live off of that and if they fight twice a year, they make $100k, which is great, but now if they’re fighting once a year they make $12,500 or if they fight twice a year, they’re making $25k.”

“That’s been my only ask for Dana to change and that would only cost the UFC $20 million annually.”
