Alabama is set to host rival Auburn on Saturday in the 89th edition of the annual Iron Bowl. Things have already gotten testy days before kickoff!

Tigers linebacker Demarcus Riddick opted to take a few shots at Crimson Tide stars Jalen Milroe and Ryan Williams on Monday, disparaging their success on the football field. It didn’t take long for Alabama to bite back.

Riddick was interviewed earlier this week while previewing the matchup with the 13th-ranked Tide. The freshman was asked about his rival’s star duo and how the Tigers planned to contain the playmakers.

“Ryan Williams, in my eyes, he ain’t really nobody to me.” Riddick said. “He ain’t no big-time player.” He also took aim at Jalen Milroe.

Riddick claimed to be faster than the signal caller who was clocked running 22.5 mph during a game against LSU a few weeks back. The linebacker was confident in his defense’s ability to limit Milroe’s production.

On Tuesday, Jalen Milroe clapped back at the trash talk. He doesn’t know who Demarcus Riddick is!

“I don’t even know who that is, but let him talk,” the Alabama quarterback said. “It’s part of it. It’s all about executing what we do, so we can be our best ‘us’ this weekend. Good on him.”

Auburn is entering the rivalry matchup fresh off an upset of No. 15 Texas A&M. They’ve been referencing these last few games as a revenge tour with the Iron Bowl next on the slate.

The comments will surely be used as motivation before the Crimson Tide take the field on Saturday as they look to keep slim College Football Playoff hopes alive. Jalen Milroe is already aware of the smack being spewed!
