Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe is expected to be one of the top passers selected in the upcoming NFL Draft. To further boost his professional stock, he’s participating in the Senior Bowl this week in Mobile.
Thus far, his performance has seen highs and lows. One now-viral play shows maybe his worst moment of the event.
Milroe threw a bad interception while attempting to lead his offense down the field on Wednesday. The play was doomed from the start as he failed to secure the snap from under center.
A slight bobble caused chaos in the backfield as continued on with a play action fake before throwing late to his intended receiver. The pass was eventually picked off by Notre Dame’s Jack Kizer.
Jalen Milroe is looking just plain awful at the #SeniorBowl. Here he is in 11-on-11s. He muffs the snap and then throws it right to the defensive back. #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE pic.twitter.com/pgYGFOCAPf

The lowlight sparked an immediate reaction as some doubt Jalen Milroe’s outlook as a top-flight NFL passer. Much of that comes due to struggles seen as a junior at Alabama last fall.
The Crimson Tide went 9-3 in the regular season before losing to Michigan in their bowl game. Milroe was near the top of the SEC in interceptions thrown with 11 through 13 games.
Those turnover issues have continued at the Senior Bowl as has his inconsistency in the passing game. At one turn, Milroe has been seen making incredible deep balls with pinpoint precision.

At the next, he’s seen skipping passes well short of his receivers as they make their breaks.

Through it all, viewers continue to be wowed by his athleticism, which was on full display throughout his final campaign in Tuscaloosa. His ability to run past defenders and extend plays is maybe his most valuable trait. His arm strength and release have also been a talking point.
Jalen Milroe’s arm is so live in person. Ball flies off his hand, can really rev up the RPMs on his throws. No other QB has quite the same zip.
There are pros and cons for the team that ultimately drafts Jalen Milroe. While he may not be a Day 1 starter, there is upside to having him in the backfield. Development will be key in his NFL future. We’ll soon find out his next destination with the draft right around the corner.
