Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jalyx Hunt was the final victim of the NFL crackdown on violent gestures during the 2024/25 season but his wallet did not have to suffer. Rob McElhenney and countless other fans offered the pick up the tab!
However, he decided to direct their money toward a great local cause instead.
Hunt, a rookie, made general manager Howie Roseman look like a genius. He burst onto the scene with 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles during the NFL regular season as a third-round pick out of Cornell and Houston Christian/Baptist. However, it was his play during the playoffs that really made the difference. The 23-year-old recorded 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks in four games.
Perhaps the biggest tackle of his young career took place during the second quarter of the Super Bowl. Hunt collapsed the pocket with his pass rush and got to Patrick Mahomes for the (half) sack.
As soon as he returned to his feet, the 6-foot-4, 252-pound linebacker pulled an imaginary arrow from his imaginary quiver and pretended to shoot it from a bow. It was a classic bow-and-arrow celebration.

The National Football League decided to crack down on the brandishing of weapons during the 2024/25 season. That mostly applied to the shooting of guns, as we saw multiple times throughout the fall.
It apparently also applies to archery. Hunt was fined $5,690 by the NFL for “unsportsmanlike conduct” because his bow-and-arrow sack celebration was deemed a “violent gesture.”
McElhenney, an Eagles fanatic, reached out on X with an offer to pay the fine.
Hey @Jaylx_Hunt if this is true hit me up.
Sorry, to clarify… do not hit me. DM me.
I’ll pay this fine. Worth every penny.

His barber is raising money for a college tour. The fund (linked here) will help pay for select students of Boys Latin of Philadelphia High School to pursue higher education through an on-campus experience.
Access provides inspiration! This fall 40 young warriors of Boys Latin Of Philadelphia High School will be invited to a college tour. BWC is banning together to assist funding the cost of the bus, hotel rooms, & food costs for this college tour to help increase the number of schools the students can visit! We are asking our friends, family, & clients to help us reach our goal of sparking the desire for these young warriors to pursue higher education through an on campus experience. Our belief is that an on campus experience will expose the students to an experience that could lead to their next source of inspiration, motivation, and education to equip them for their version of greatness. Historically each college visit for a group of 40 students have cost between $30,000-$35,000. With our help more students can be exposed to this life changing experience.
On March 12th, BWC will be serving the Boys Latin Of Philadelphia High School with a free haircutting event right before their Mother & Son Dance, and presenting the 2025 college tour fund donations from our fundraiser.

In lieu of the cost of the fine, which Jalyx Hunt will pay himself, he asked fans (including McElhenney) for donations. They stepped up in a big way!
Man of your word! This is amazing, thank you 🙏🏿

The Philadelphia Eagles fanbase is often subject to criticism for its unruly behavior. This kind of thing proves why it really is the City of Brotherly Love!
