Kentucky listed Jamarion Wilcox as “questionable” for its upcoming college football game against Ole Miss. However, the Wildcats’ top running back is actively dealing with three separate court cases.

I would imagine he will not be on the field against the Rebels, if I had to guess.

The team’s leading rusher from a year ago cannot stay out of trouble. His college football future is up in the air as a result of these legal troubles.

Who is Jamarion Wilcox?

The 5-foot-10, 191-pound ball-carrier arrived to Lexington as a three- or four-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2023. He took a redshirt upon arrival.

Wilcox led Kentucky with 590 rushing yards on 92 carries as a redshirt freshman in 2024. It was a breakout season that set him up for a sizeable role in the backfield in 2025— even with the additions of Seth McGowan and Dante Dowdell.

Unfortunately, Wilcox may or may not play at all this year.

He did not dress to play in the season-opener because of a violation of team rules. Head coach Mark Stoops said on Monday that “the status has not changed” and could not comment further.

And yet, Jamarion Wilcox was for some reason listed as “questionable” on the Wildcats’ availability report. That technically leaves the door open for him to play against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Jamarion Wilcox was pulled over by a Kentucky State Trooper in April. The citation claims he “appeared to be racing a vehicle at a high rate of speed” while the state trooper was driving at 55 miles per hour. His speed was “unable to be measured by radar” so he was charged with driving 10 miles per hour over the posted limit. He is set to appear in court in January.

The citation is not ideal, but in the grand scheme of things, not that big of a deal. The problem is… that not the only active court case.

Wilcox was cited for four violations earlier this week by the Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control unit. He was unable to produce proof of vaccinations or licenses for two of his dogs and will appear in court on Sept. 18.

The third legal issue is the most problematic.

According to The Courier Journal, a Wilcox allegedly walked into a woman’s room while she was sleeping and got into her bed without consent. The woman claims Wilcox was fully naked and tried to open her legs by force, which led her to run out of the room and call 9-1-1.

A hearing on the case took place on Wednesday.

Jamarion Wilcox has not been charged with a crime but the alleged sexual assault victim was granted a temporary restraining order that requires him to stay at least 500 feet away from her. The next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.

Despite all of this, Wilcox is listed by Kentucky as questionable, which means he could play.
