Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff Makes History With Perfect Passing Game

It’s been a struggle for NFL quarterbacks so far this year as defenses have adjusted to the high-powered passing attacks we saw in the 2010’s and have shut down plenty of NFL offenses. But, no one told the Detroit Lions and Jared Goff that.

Goff had a perfect passing day, lighting up the Seattle Seahawks defense with no incompletions and making NFL history as the Lions won 42-29.

Jared Goff came into Monday’s crucial game completing a solid 66% of his passes, and completed nearly 80% in his last game out in a win over the Cardinals. Every offensive coordinator would take 80% completion percentage without hesitation. Goff exceeded that with ease on Monday night.

How good was he? Goff didn’t throw a single incompletion the entire night. He threw 18 passes, and completed every single one. Not only that, but he had a really impressive 16.2 yards per attempt for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. A lot of that was yards after catch, but he wasn’t exactly just checking the ball down either.

That helped the Lions to have an incredible day on offense in terms of efficiency. they scored 42 points on just 50 plays, and averaged nearly 8 yards per play. Simply put, it was a fantastic night for the offense, and Goff had the most to do with it.

Not only did he not throw an incompletion, but he caught a touchdown pass, too!

He made a lot of history, too.

Overall, it was a night that Jared Goff will never forget.
