Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse is having a rookie season right out of his wildest dreams. After being drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Rams, the former Florida State Seminoles star recorded his first career sack in his first career game. He has since been named to the Pro Bowl and is a key component of the Rams’ Playoffs roster.

Ahead of the Rams traveling to Philly to face the Eagles this weekend in the NFL Playoffs, Jared Verse who played 3 years of high school football at Central Columbia High School in Bloombsburg, PA was asked by the LA Times how he feels about the Eagles…

Given that he was raised in Pennsylvania, the interviewer presumably thought there was a chance that Jared Verse was an Eagles fan. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Verse will now have a target on his back at Lincoln Financial Field after proclaiming to the LA Times:

“I hate Eagles fans. They’re so annoying. I hate Eagles fans. When I see that green and white I hate it. I actually get upset. Like I actually genuinely get hot.”

Philly fans are notorious for being unwelcoming to the opposition. They also famously threw batteries at Santa Claus during a game against the Vikings.

It’s doubtful that Jared Verse will have to watch out for batteries being flung at him but the vitriol that will be spewed his way will be intense. I’ve been on the receiving side of Philly hate years ago when the Rays were playing the Phillies in the World Series. It’s no fun.

But Jared Verse is a 6’4, 260-pound linebacker. A Pro Bowler. He is one of the baddest dudes around. Is he even capable of being intimidated? I doubt it.

Currently, the Eagles are 6-point favorites at home. Saquon Barkley became the 9th player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season. Jalen Hurts has 14 rushing TDs to Saquon’s 13 and another 18 in the air. Jared Verse will have his work cut out for him on Sunday afternoon.
