Amid the fallout of Tiger Woods‘ latest off-course scandal, more and more professional golfers are letting it be known that they believe Woods should probably face more criticism for his own actions.

Six-time major champion and former world No. 1 Nick Faldo, who gave Woods his first green jacket after winning the 1997 Masters, said he believes the golf world has gone too easy on Woods.

Now, another former world No. 1, 2015 PGA Champion Jason Day, says it’s time for Woods to take a little bit of accountability for his actions and the way that they could harm others.

Jason Day Says That Tiger Woods Was ‘Selfish’ For Alleged DUI

Day was asked about the incident on Monday ahead of the 2026 edition of The Masters, and he was extremely candid in his remarks.

He began by expressing sadness over the situation and admiration for Woods..

“He was my hero – he is my hero,” Day said. “The reason why I play golf is because of this tournament and Tiger.

“It’s hard to see him go through what he’s going through, and especially under the microscope… it must be hard to be who he is and have everything, everyone look on, kind of down on him.”

However, he didn’t let him off the hook for his alleged actions.

“The only thing that I don’t understand is that it’s a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people in harm’s way, as well.

“But when you’re the player that he was and how strong-willed he is, he thinks he can do almost anything.”

Woods’ impact on the world of golf is immeasurable. So it’s understandable why so many players are so reverent toward him. But at some point, there needs to be a line in the sand, and it appears this latest incident may have crossed that line.
