Team USA’s women’s rugby is off to a hot start at the Olympics in Paris as they won their first two matchups in Sunday play. In the process, they gained another fan.

A superfan, to be exact, who comes in the form of former NFL offensive lineman Jason Kelce. The wildly popular big man is overseas to take in the sights and sounds, and the rugby pitch offered an entertaining welcome to the Games!

The Team USA squad notched two victories in their first round of play, taking down Japan and Brazil in dominant fashion. The star of those performances was Alev Kelter, whose vicious stiff arm against the Brazilians immediately went viral.

After landing the wins, Ilona Maher got a chance to chat with Kelce. When he wasn’t cheating his way through an arm-wrestling competition against the women’s team players, Maher did her best to recruit the footballer for support.

It worked!

“We got Jason Kelce,” a caption read accompanied by a video on TikTok. He’s officially a Team USA rugby superfan!

Jason Kelce has become Team USA’s women’s rugby’s version of Flavor Flav.

Flavor Flav is bankrolling the water polo squad’s trip to Paris, linking up with Olympian Maggie Steffens with a promise to fund her team’s stay. He’s become a superfan in a sport he had no knowledge of just months prior!

Team USA women’s rugby is hoping Jason Kelce can provide a similar impact.

While he won’t be supporting the team financially, he will be their personal cheer squad. And we’ve all seen his dedication to the role!

While watching his brother, Travis, make a run to the Super Bowl last fall, Jason Kelce partied – in many cases shirtless – in the family box with Taylor Swift.

We need the same energy in Paris!

“Girl Dads” are uniting to support their country’s women’s teams, which have performed incredibly to this point. Keep an eye out for Kelce in the stands during the next rugby match.
