Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver and newly-crowned Super Bowl champion Jaxon Smith-Njigba has responded to Druski after the social media skit creator disrespected the pronunciation of his name while announcing that he’d won Offensive Player of the Years at the NFL Awards.
While presenting him with the awards for the 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Druski — known for his viral comedy sketches on social media — mocked the pronunciation of Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name.
The moment immediately went viral, with virtually everyone calling Druski some version of “lame” or “whack” for his actions.
Druski mispronounced Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s name on purpose, right?

Jaxon Smith-Njigba responded to Druski making fun of the pronunciation of his name during the NFL Awards after winning the Super Bowl
After winning Super Bowl LX over the Patriots, though, Smith-Njigba was given the opportunity to set the record straight and put Druski in his place.
“Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Put respect on it, you here me? Sierra Leone. My grandfather came to the United States in the 70s. Had to work for everything that he had,” Smith-Njigba told BSO.
“He brought a lot of people over here. He brought a lot of family over here and he was the leader and he took pride in who he was and what he had to give back. I represent him. I represent my family. I represent Sierra Leone. Bo, Freetown. It’s an honor just to even say that,” he continued.
“I appreciate you asking that question because I wanted to say that up here in front of y’all and I take great pride in it.”
I asked world champ Ohio State Buckeye Jaxon Smith-Njigba if he could tell the world why his name means so much to him. Just take a listen and make this go as viral as when they make a joke out of it #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/YSsSpIasLw
