University of Washington head football coach Jedd Fisch will live without his family in Seattle this year. His wife and two children are moving back to Arizona without him.
It was a difficult decision made in the best interest of their two daughters.
The life of a college football coach is not easy. This is one of the many sacrifices that comes with the job, both for Fisch and for his family.
Who is Jedd Fisch?
The 49-year-old New Jersey-native graduated from the University of Florida in 1998. Fisch started his coaching career as a grad assistant at his alma mater the year later.
Since then, he has coached with/for the Texans, Ravens, Broncos and Seahawks, among other NFL teams. He got his first opportunity as a college head coach as the interim at UCLA in 2017.
Arizona hired him as the full-time head coach in 2021. The Wildcats went from 1-11 to 10-3 in three years. They finished as the No. 11-ranked team in college football in 2023, which was the program’s highest rating in a quarter century.
As a result, Washington threw a bag at Fisch when it needed to replace Kalen DeBoer prior to last season. He ruffled a lot of feathers with his decision to leave Tucson for a seven year, $54.2 million contract in Seattle but business is business.
The Huskies went 6-7 in Year 1. This is Year 2.
His family is moving back to Arizona without him.
Amber Fisch, the wife of Jedd Fisch, shared the following post to Instagram just a few days before the start of the 2025 college football season:
She and their two daughters are returning to Tucson. Jedd will stay in Seattle— obviously…
Ashlee and Kendall are the primary reasons for this move. The former will be a junior in high school this fall. The latter will be in the eighth grade.
They spent last year at a school in Bellevue, Washington after three years in Tucson. They will now return to their former school in Arizona. Their father will not move back with them.
As unfortunate as it might be for Jedd to be without Amber, Ashlee and Kendall, the family probably doesn’t see all that much of him during the season anyway. And, given their financial status, I would imagine that they will take a quick private jet flight up to Seattle at every opportunity.
