Louisville won its final game of the season in the Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo. That victory could be head coach Jeff Brohm’s last with the program.

He’s been linked to the opening at Michigan. He was asked about his interest in job during the postgame press conference.

Brohm refused to address the speculation head-on. Instead, he sidestepped the inquiry to keep the focus on the Cardinals.

Will Jeff Brohm leave Louisville?

“I don’t speak on other jobs,” he said after taking down Toledo. “I’m happy with this one, and happy we got the victory.”

It wasn’t confirmation of interest in leaving his current post. It certainly wasn’t a denial, either.

Brohm is reportedly firmly in Michigan’s crosshairs as the program looks to replace Sherrone Moore. His history of producing explosive offenses and experience in the Big Ten play a role in the Wolverines’ pursuits.

The school has been in contact with Brohm’s camp. Now that the season is over, discussions about the future should become more intense.

Brohm has been at Louisville for three seasons, posting an impressive 28-12 overall record. That follows stints at Purdue and Western Kentucky.

Michigan faced Brohm just twice when with the Boilermakers, winning both contests by double digits. That does not minimize his success.

The head coach took Purdue to four bowl trips in six seasons. He went to the Big Ten title game in his final campaign, which the team lost to his current suitor.

Brohm buoyed his success in West Lafayette into an offer from Louisville. He’s averaged nine wins a year with the Cardinals. Unfortunately, his final game of the 2025 campaign ended with a fight.

Louisville and Toledo got into a brawl.

The Cardinals led the game 21-3 with just under 15 minutes left to play. The Rockets would make things interesting with 19 fourth-quarter points.

Toledo got the score to 27-22 after a touchdown with 2:24 remaining. Louisville subsequently attempted to run the clock to avoid giving its opponent an opportunity to win.

It would be able to do so with the help of an unsportsmanlike penalty.

Louisville running back Isaac Brown took a first down carry six yards before being met by a defender. He was then forced out of bounds and driven to the ground.

The late hit occurred on the Cardinals’ sideline. Tensions rose. Pushing and shoving ensued.

It did not appear any punches were thrown. The Louisville bench gave the Toledo tackler a piece of its mind before the situation was deescalated.

Louisville would regather its offense to run the final seconds from the clock and pick up the win. The ending could produce the last image of the Jeff Brohm era.
