Jennifer Lopez’s difficult year has been highly publicized and well-documented.

From the luke-warm (if not room temperature) reception to her new album and the accompanying movie, to having to cancel the entirety of her tour, to her and her husband Ben Affleck reportedly heading for divorce: outside of the viewership of her Netflix sci-fi film Atlas, it’s been a tough 2024 for Jenny from the Block.

In a recent post on her website, Lopez — while gloating about Atlas being the #1 movie in the world for the second week in a row — seemingly addressed her recent cold streak by hitting out at the “negativity out in the world.”

“Hi everybody, I just found out some great news and it’s all because of YOU!!” she wrote on her borderline unusable website. “ATLAS is #1 worldwide again this week!!! Thank you all so much!!!”

“It may seem like there’s a lot of negativity out in the world right now…but don’t let the voices of a few drown out that there is soooo much love out there. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love you all so much.”

Earlier this week, we brought you the story of Atlas being the #1 movie in the world as Netflix claims it has  “60 million views” and 1.3 billion minutes watched. Netflix defines a “view” as “total time spent watching a movie or season of a TV series, divided by the running time.”

As we previously detailed, Lopez’s new film — despite a widely negative response from critics and audiences — performing so well by Netflix’s standards is bad news for movie fans everywhere as it’ll only encourage the streamers to lower the bar of the films they put out.

Following Atlas, Lopez currently has two films on her docket: Unstoppable, which is in post-production, and Kiss of the Spider Woman, which wrapped filming earlier this year.
