Plenty of highly-touted college football players have seen their draft stock take a hit and their pro careers derailed by off-the-field issues that can give NFL teams a cause for concern. However, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love stressed franchises won’t have to worry about him getting in trouble while highlighting the low-key interests he said make him the perfect guy to draft.
The list of the biggest draft busts in NFL history features more than a few guys who were selected by teams that were willing to overlook some red flags that were raised during their time in college and ended up regretting the decision to waste a pick on someone they could not, in fact, fix when he took his talents to the next level.
There was also a time when those franchises could only do so much to predict how players would adjust once they turned pro and suddenly had millions of dollars at their disposal along with plenty of new opportunities to use it to make bad decisions.
It’s now a bit easier to scout off-the-field concerns thanks to social media and the advent of the NIL Era, as most of the guys who are going to be selected toward the start of the NFL Draft have already earned a sizeable amount of dough and can only do so much to cover up regrettable choices they may have made in the past.
Jeremiyah Love managed to leave Notre Dame with a pretty clean sheet on that front, and he drove that point home while explaining why NFL teams don’t have to be too concerned about his behavior.

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has become the latest guy at that position who’s embarked on a “Put Your NFL Career In Jeopardy” speedrun during a turbulent few months where he’s been accused of assault, repeatedly caught heat over allegations of anti-Semitism, and claimed concussions are “all in your head.”
Giants running back Cam Skattebo also recently issued an apology after joking about CTE and asthma being fake, and they’re just two of many players who’ve forced the teams they play for to deal with a headache they’d prefer to avoid.
Love didn’t mention anyone by name while chatting about his off-the-field habits at Notre Dame’s pro day on Tuesday, but the RB used an interview at the showcase as an opportunity to let the teams he might be interested in drafting him know the kind of guy they’ll be getting.
NEW: Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love shares his pitch to NFL teams:
“You draft me, I’m not doing too much… After a game I’m going home, playing video games…and watch anime.”
“I’m a simple guy… I’m not going to cause you no type of trouble.” 🙌🏼 pic.twitter.com/OGBLURtBWY

Here’s what he had to say:
“I’m a pretty simple guy. If you draft me, I’m not doing too much of nothing other than football.
Outside of football, I’ll go out here and there, but I’m the type of guy my perfect day after a game [is] going home, play video games, talk to whoever I want to talk to, and watch anime.
So I’m a simple guy. You’re going to get a simple football player with me.”
Love is widely projected to be a Top 10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft (the Titans and the Commanders seemed to be the top candidates to land him), so I guess we’ll have to wait and see if he lives up to that promise.
