Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t going to let Ezekiel Elliott or his agent tell him what he can or can’t joke about.
Earlier his week after Cowboys rookie running back Tony Pollard put up a solid game against the Rams in the preseason, Jones made a joke about not missing Ezekiel Elliott, who is currently sitting out while negotiating a new contract.

Jones’ joke pissed off Elliot because his agent came out and said that the star running back found the quip to be “disrespectful.
It drew a few laughs but neither @EzekielElliott nor agent Rocky Arceneaux found @Cowboys Jerry Jones' quip "Zeke who?" as amusing. Arceneaux: "I didn't think it was funny and neither did Zeke – we actually thought it was disrespectful."

Today, Jones spoke the media once again and was serious when he proclaimed that he had “earned the right to joke with Zeke”.
Jerry Jones was very serious when asked about the backlash from his “Zeke who?” joke: “I’ve earned the right to joke with Zeke. Let me be real clear about that. I’ve earned the right to joke with Zeke.”

Ezekiel Elliott immediately bolted from Dallas after the joke drama and is now back in Cabo two weeks before the start of the season.
