The Aaron Rodgers era with the New York Jets is officially over. What makes that a particularly difficult pill to swallow for Jets fans is that it never even truly began.
Now sitting at 3-8 and facing the prospect of a 14th straight playoff-less season, New York Jets fans have begun to turn on Aaron Rodgers, as there is now no one left for the 40-year-old quarterback to scapegoat.
Many Jets fans have noticed that in addition to being unable to move anymore, Rodgers isn’t seeing the field all that way, particularly downfield.
Given how bad the Jets are and how much of the last 18 months Rodgers has spent talking a big game only to spectacularly fail to deliver, Gang Green nation is beginning to turn on Rodgers, calling for the future Hall of Famer to be benched or cut.

“It’s time for Aaron Rodgers to be benched and cut. He can’t play football anymore. Let’s see what we have in Jordan Travis before this disaster of a season is over,” one Jets fan tweeted in the wake of the loss to the Colts.
In fact, if you do a search of “Rodgers cut” on X, formerly Twitter, you’ll find loads of Jets fans begging for the same thing.
New York Post beat reporter Brian Costello suggested that if his name weren’t Aaron Rodgers, he’d already be on the bench.

“Aaron Rodgers always shaking his head like he can’t believe what happened when he’s what happened,” said one viral tweet about Rodgers’ play this year.
“My favorite storyline of every week is how bad Aaron Rodgers is,” another NFL fan chimed in.
“The Jets deserve better than the old, unenthused, and completely uninspired Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is just out there collecting checks. I’m no longer convinced he still craves winning as he once did,” analyzed FS1 personality Emmanuel Acho.
In 11 games as the Jets starting quarterback this season, Rodgers has completed 63.4% of his passes for 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.
Rodgers has been so bad as a member of the New York Jets so far that he actually has, albeit on a much smaller sample size, a worse winning percentage with the team than former flame-out franchise quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson. The Jets will now enter their Week 12 bye week before resuming their disastrous 2024 season against the Seattle Seahawks on December 1.
