The Jets beat the Eagles 20-14, ending their perfect 5-0 start to the season, but the team nearly lost wide receiver Garrett Wilson in the process.
Wilson, who led the team with 8 catches for 90 yards, didn’t hold back when he spoke to reporters post-game about the MetLife Stadium turf after suffering an apparent non-contact injury which forced him to go to the medical tent mid-game.

Wilson didn’t mince words, calling the MetLife Stadium turf “Garbage.” It’s not the first time we’ve heard such complaints from NFL players about this particular field.
Wilson was carted off for X-Rays from the locker room as well, but said he’s “ok” to reporters.

MetLife Stadium, shared by both the Giants and the Jets, has long been a point of contention for players. Despite a fresh synthetic turf field installation in the offseason, the grumbling continues.
Most players say they prefer the natural feel of grass under their cleats, while the team owners lean toward turf because it’s more versatile for hosting concerts and other moneymaking events at the stadium.
The big question now is whether their complaints will finally push the owners to take some action. It appears that, in the eyes of the players, cost-saving might be winning out over making the right changes.
