Jim Harbaugh was being pretty heavily linked with a couple of NFL head coaching jobs this offseason. It was to the point that many expected to see him leave Michigan for one of those jobs. He ended up returning to Michigan and has said that he plans to stay there long-term, but it would appear that hasn’t fixed everything at Michigan.
Today, Harbaugh and Michigan found out they would need to find a new offensive coordinator for next season.
BREAKING: Michigan OC Josh Gattis is accepting the Miami’s offensive coordinator job, per source. The 38-year-old Gattis who helped the Wolverines to the Big Ten title in 2021, won the Broyles Award as the nation’s top assistant coach. Big addition for the Canes.

According to a report, this move was a direct result of Harbaugh’s handling of his NFL interest. A former Michigan star also believes this is only the beginning.
In comes the domino effect of selfishness and severe miscommunication. 🤷🏾♂️ first the coaches leave next the players. @UMichFootball is in trouble only 1 month in to the new year…..

After putting together his best season yet at Michigan, it looks like Harbaugh may have thrown it all away for NFL interest that went unrequited. It will be difficult to find a viable replacement for Gattis at this point with most coaches deciding on their future before February. Any more losses for the Wolverines will be tough to recover from,
It’s looking like Jim Harbaugh could end up regretting his very public interest in leaving Michigan for the NFL. He could be in some trouble after next season if he can’t secure another win over Ohio State.
